Livingstone sits on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, where the Zambezi drops into its gorges at Mosi-oa-Tunya: “the smoke that thunders”. The town is the gateway to the falls, to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and to the river above the falls.
From Maramba River Lodge, the falls are about 4 km away. Days here combine the falls themselves with boat cruises on the Maramba River, wildlife viewing in the national park, cultural visits in town and, for the adventurous, the bungee jumping and white-water rafting the gorges are known for.
