Victoria Falls and South Luangwa in one trip

Two of Zambia’s great experiences, the falls and the Luangwa valley, linked by a flight through Lusaka.

Victoria Falls and South Luangwa make one of the most natural pairings in Zambia: the drama of the falls and the Zambezi at one end, and the slow, close wildlife viewing of the Luangwa valley at the other.

Livingstone

Maramba River Lodge sits on the Maramba River inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, about 4 km from the falls. Elephants, hippos and crocodiles can be seen from the lodge. Its activity centre books cruises on the river, fishing, birding and visits to the falls, and the town’s museums are close by.

South Luangwa

Thornicroft Lodge is on the Luangwa River about five minutes from the park’s main gate. Guides lead morning, afternoon and night game drives, walking safaris and village tours; the area has more than 400 recorded bird species.

Putting it together

Fly from Livingstone to Mfuwe through Lusaka, then 40 minutes by road to the lodge. Our Victoria Falls & South Luangwa journey suggests three nights at Maramba and four at Thornicroft; the travel team can change the balance to suit you.
